Coming of age just a few years behind these guys in Akron’s symbiotic municipal alter ego of Dayton (culturally ‘Daykron’ as National Lampoon pegged it back at the time), there was so much about this band that resonated, and inspired so much about Big Beef and what we did with it. It shouldn’t be a surprise that you’ll find Devo showing up more than once in various “It’s All Happening” set lists.
Really great deep dig into the what, how and why of Devo, and the meaning behind what they’ve done. So many insightful observations in this from Mothersbaugh and Casale. Too many to even excerpt here.
