"Andy & Pat's Groovy Cosmic Love Hour - Funky 45's"

Big Beef Records (BBCD05)

A tripped-out collection of humorously strange rarities often featured over the years on the cult TV show from Dayton of the same name. Known for featuring some pretty strange stuff over the years, The Groovy Cosmic Love Hour is proud to present for the first time a collection of some of the best of some of the strangest, funniest and even worst from American pop culture from the 60's and 70's. Produced in conjunction with Ace Detective Records of California, this CD compiles such thrift store oddities as Pennsylvania's easy listening heroes THE SPECIALISTS (performaing 60's classics in their own inimitable style). There's THE JERMS (not the Darby Crash-fronted version) doing a rippin' funked-up version of the great "Green Door", "Rockin' Pow Wow" by THE FIVE BLOBS, and the politically incorrectly named DINKS doing such lyrical greats as "Nina-Kocka-Nina" and "Kocka-Mow-Mow". You also get THE SLOUGH BOYS doing the rockin' "Shortnin' Bread" and "Fried Chicken Baby", the annoyingly funny "Chip The Chimpanzee" and much, much more! There are even selections from JIM BACKUS (with the indescribable "Delicious" which must be heard to be believed)! These are classic tracks you won't hear on ANY oldies station. A great party album and a must have for fans of offbeat compilations!
